Lower Elementary: Jump into January

Our children are settling back into our classroom routine after the Christmas break.
In language, students are continuing to practice parts of speech. They are also parsing sentences in literature and on their own.
In math, students continue to excel in their knowledge of multiplication facts. We are using the golden beads to complete long division problems. Many students are completing fraction addition, fraction equivalencies, and decimals. Some students are exploring squaring numbers.
In science, some of our students are exploring electricity. Other students are studying the parts of different animals. Many of our students have discovered an interest in sewing and crocheting. They are making crochet chains, potholders, booties, and pillows like crazy!
As a class, we are also focusing on the care of our classroom environment. This includes taking care of our materials, keeping the classroom clean and organized, etc. These are lessons they can practice at home too!
Thanks,
Ms. Brittany & Mrs. Beth
